I have been serving the communities of Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Roseville and Saint Paul as their Minnesota State Representative since 1989. While district lines have been redrawn since I first started, my priorities have stayed the same:

As a former educator, the importance of PreK-12 to college education has been a focus area for me at the capitol. I believe that all Minnesota students deserve a world-class education and their teachers deserve security in school funding to provide this for our future citizens. Passing the 2018 Bonding and Pension bills included substantial investments in higher education and affordable housing programs for all Minnesotans.

Given the wide area of the Metro area I represent in the Twin Cities, I know the value of reliable, sustainable transportation. I support logical, long-term funding for our roads, bridges, highways and transit systems throughout Minnesota. As the DFL Lead on the Capital Investment Committee, I provided input to ensure critical projects under the 2018 Session’s $1.4 Billion Infrastructure Bill were balanced and equitable for all Minnesotans.

I work hard to make health care affordable for all Minnesota families and protect those living in assisted and long-term care facilities. In 2018, I supported a measure that would drive pharmaceutical costs down by creating “penny-a-pill” pricing and also address the devastating effects of the Opioid Crisis for Minnesotans. I also supported measures like the 2018 Omnibus Pension Bill which included legislation that will ensure that over half a million public employees throughout Minnesota could retire with fair, long-term financial stability.

Minnesotans deserve worker benefits and the ability to support and provide for their families. I stand with workers against wage theft and support a fair wage for their hard work. I supported measures during the 2018 session that would give employees more opportunities to use earned sick time and paid family leave, so workers won’t have to choose between a paycheck or their health, between worry or being there for their families.

I’m Alice Hausman and I would be honored to have your vote and continue fighting for these ideals as your State District 66A Representative in November!
